“Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” (2004)
The scene where Ron Burgundy (played by Will Ferrell) is playing the jazz flute and accidentally hits the microphone on the glass partition is a classic blooper moment. In the final cut of the film, the scene is left in and you can hear the sound of the microphone hitting the glass, but Ferrell’s reaction is what really makes you laugh.
“Jurassic Park” (1993)
In one scene where the T-Rex is attacking the cars, there is a shot where the dinosaur’s head crashes through the sunroof of the car with the kids inside. The shot was supposed to be a close-up of the T-Rex’s head, but due to a malfunction with the animatronic dinosaur, the entire neck and head crashed through the roof, giving the actors a real scare.
“The Princess Bride” (1987)
In the famous sword fight scene between Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin) and the Dread Pirate Roberts (Cary Elwes), there’s a moment where Elwes accidentally disarms Patinkin and the sword goes flying out of his hand. Patinkin quickly recovers and grabs a nearby rock to continue the fight, ad-libbing the now-famous line “I do not have time to spare, you have taken everything from me!”
“Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope” (1977)
In the scene where Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is confronted by Greedo, there is a moment where the two characters are talking and Greedo’s blaster suddenly goes off, missing Han by a wide margin. The blooper was actually the result of a technical error on set, but it has since become a beloved moment in the Star Wars fandom.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” (2001)
During one scene where the Fellowship is fleeing the Mines of Moria, Legolas (played by Orlando Bloom) accidentally kicks a helmet and breaks his toe. Despite the injury, Bloom continued with the scene, using the pain to fuel his character’s urgency and determination.
“Ghostbusters” (1984)
During the scene where the Ghostbusters are investigating the library, there is a moment where Dan Aykroyd’s character, Ray, is supposed to be scared by a ghostly apparition. The ghost was supposed to appear on a wire rig and float towards Ray, but the rig malfunctioned and the ghost ended up slamming into Aykroyd’s face, causing him to break character and laugh.
“The Dark Knight” (2008)
During a scene where the Joker (played by Heath Ledger) is walking away from a hospital explosion, the remote detonator he is supposed to use to set off the explosives fails to work. After a few moments of confusion, Ledger improvises by slamming the detonator with his hand, causing the explosion to finally go off – creating that famous scene we all know and love.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981)
In a scene where Indiana Jones (played by Harrison Ford) is confronted by a sword-wielding opponent, there was supposed to be a dramatic fight scene. However, Ford was suffering from dysentery on the day of the shoot and was too ill to perform the choreographed fight. Instead, he improvised by pulling out his gun and shooting the swordsman, creating one of the most iconic moments in movie history.
